Why do we love rounded corners?

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

this one’s for you, Geoff… for the record, and as you already know, I love rounded corners too, and should probably stop teasing you about it. That, and drop shadows. But we’ll get to that later.

Found this article on Basement.org

Some of our earliest memories are tied to objects and things that are far less than perfect and rife with right angles. Corners say “go away.” At the risk of sounding hoaky: smoother, rounder surfaces say “hold me.”

Brilliant reading.

I dont mind your teasing ways! I quite enjoy it really.

As I am rather (ahem, err) rounded myself, I guess there is just a natural empathy between me and the corners of a rounded nature, the drop shadows are rather worrying though as I dont believe I have a shadowy side.

However I am thinking of nicking your javascript image fade thingy code from that dental site though - oooh, that sounds shadowy!

Maybe I was wrong about me!
