Ruby On rails hits 1.0

Ruby on Rails 1.0 is released — and it comes script.aculo.us 1.5 (and prototype 1.4 final)! Since I’m not yet up to speed with Ruby On Rails, I only get to play with the javascript libraries. Commuting time is currently spent on a theme for WordPress which utilizes the prototype and script.aculo.us library for comment previews, search and what-have-yous.

While doing some browsing around for documentation, I found Ajax activity indicators with Rails, a smart way to extend Prototype with automatic display of a busy indicator as soon as there’s some Ajax activities taking place on the page. For more information on Prototype, see the excellent Quick guide to prototype by particle tree, and the oh so mandatory unofficial developer notes by Sergio Pereira.

On the PHP side of things, Symfony (PHP5 framework) is publishing an advent calendar, a tutorial with lessons added on a daily basis until christmas.

Ever since del.icio.us was bought by Yahoo, it has been acting funny on me… scripts timing out and the likes. Just temporarily I guess.
